Single Vision
What Are Single Vision Lenses?Single vision lenses have a uniform prescription applied throughout the entire surface of the lens.
This means that they are typically designed to correct a single type of vision problem, such as nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), or astigmatism. The prescription applied to your lens is prescribed by your optometrist following a detailed eye exam.
Single vision lenses can be made from various materials, are compatible with our innovative slim and fit lens option (offering one of the slimmest lens types on the market). They can also be coated with different treatments, like our scratch resistant lens coating or our blue light filter lens coating, to improve their durability and enhance their optical properties.
Single vision lenses are typically prescribed for individuals who have a single vision problem, and do not require additional correction for reading or close-up work. They provide clear and precise vision for a particular distance, and are commonly used for tasks such as driving, watching TV, or participating in sports.
Single vision lenses generally have less distortion than multifocal lenses, supporting optimal vision. They’re also easy to adjust if your prescription changes.
The best way to know if single-vision lenses are right for you is through an eye exam with our eye care professionals, who will run through your results and therefore your unique lens prescription needs.
